EDUCATION & OUTREACH
We conduct education and outreach programs to empower our communities with knowledge of the District Attorney and larger criminal legal system.
The District Attorney’s office is one of the most powerful players in the Alameda County criminal justice system. District Attorneys (colloquially referred to as “DA’s”) represent the people of California in criminal, civil, and juvenile cases and have historically played an outsize role in perpetuating the mass incarceration of Black and Brown people by deciding who to prosecute, whether to bring charges, whether to request bail, and what sentences to recommend.
Explore our campaigns and programs below. We aim to highlight, communicate, and translate complex criminal legal system policies, processes, and procedures into easier to digest concepts so that our communities can be knowledgeable, prepared, and empowered.
